NEXT SPARC SESSION:

TO BE ANNOUNCED

SPARC is a hands-on educational and motivational program dedicated to helping women develop writing and communication skills at each student's own individual level. During an eight-week session, two hour meetings are divided between creative writing exercises to get thoughts and writing flowing, and practical exercises to utilize skills on the path toward a best life.
    Session activities include:
*Explore experiences, feelings, and goals through writing
*Have fun with haiku, limericks, group-written stories
*Write letters or emails to a business or a family member
*Develop simple essays to organize and persuade a case
*Get familiar with basic document formatting, email, and internet
*Strengthen writing abilities necessary for GED and college work

Support and Follow-Up:  SPARC graduates receive a certificate and a writing and resource information guide. For all participants, SPARC holds monthly meetings on topics responding to participants' needs and desires, such as: verbal presentations; focused grammar topics; fiction/poetry writing; writing business and personal documents, including resumes. SPARC is a community designed to support women in achieving their goals.

SPARC Poetry

Autumn
Here in New England at this time of year,
the trees look like they are dressed for a celebration;
their leaves show off bright intense colors of red, orange, yellow and spots of green.

Their excitement is easy to be seen
like a contest who is the best.
The date is marked for them by nature;
Autumn enchanted sweetness that everyone waits to see.

Summer has left us but a new celebration has begun.

Fall is coming
When day time is shorter
Sun shines are lighter
Trees wear new coat with different colors
Lets you know fall is closer
